Microsoft drops OneNote from Office

You didn't read the article, did you?
They are dropping OneNote 2016 and instead switching all support to OneNote for Windows 10.
Its so popular that its not a part of the Office suite anymore. Its standalone.
Says a lot about windows 10 users then...

I'm on Linux

Good, no one ever used it.

Sway can also be killed

Powerpoint as well. In fact everything save Word and Excel.
And reduce the price by 50% then and give people a choice.
I don't want Gb of unused M$ trash sitting on my HD because its "part" of the whole "package"

Just dropped from Office and included/supported/updated from Windows 10 so no real change.

But - totally agree; who uses OneNote anyway???

I do

Moved away from Notes in Outlook/Exchange.

Had to decide between OneNote and Evernote.

Don't need all that pomp and circumstance and if I do I'll pay for evernote.

Its hardly pomp and circumstance, that are all very valuable features to have if you know how to use them....

Google Keep is perfectly acceptable for basic note taking though...

I wasn’t involved in it’s setup or anything, but it seamlessly syncs and updates shared spreadsheets and documents without issue.

As it stands it requires zero maintenance which is a boon for us.

That would be great, ability to pay for only the modules you need. But that ca$h-cow can not be broken up
