Aaron Greenberg firmly believes that the Xbox 360 will defeat the Sony PlayStation 3 in terms of sales this year.

Speaking in an interview with Destructoid, the Microsoft exec stated that the war of words between his console will maintain its sales gap over and above the PS3 in the next 12 months because there are simply too many factors weighing in the Seattle-based firm's favour.

He said: "We have more titles, more exclusives, we have the leading online community, and being able to bring really completely innovative technology like Project Natal to market this holiday, are all things that make us unique."

Despite the smack talk, Greenberg added that Microsoft never underestimates the competition and they are well aware of their great games, formidable market presence and "great history in this industry".

In January, Sony sold its three millionth PS3 console in the UK, though still suffers in the charts behind the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii.

Since we've heard from the Sony's execs I thought I'd give the Microsoft execs some air time! :D:D:D

Personally I feel both corporations are full of it and this is the smack talk before the big fight. I'm afraid only sales this year will let us know who the real winner is. Let us see who has the better game plan, shall we?

"And in the left hand corner... Let's get ready to ruuummmmbbblllleeee!" :p

What does the Xbox 360 exclusive lineup look like?

It's a well kept secret! They are going to surprise us all! Then there still is Milo and the watered down Natal. With Milo they are targeting the Parish community! With NATAL the Wii Kids, about the rest I just wonder!

Could happen, Halo Reach looks like it will be epic, 10 million copies sold easy, and if Natal captures the casual market like the Wii then definitely, and of course there might be a price drop coming as well.

Yeah there should be as the Xbox360 is by FAR overpriced for what you get in technology or value!

hae to disagree with you IAP you get a console, dvd player, decent divx player and media extender for under R2500the xbox offer quite a value for money, yes not as powerful as the ps3 but its definatly not over priced

Let him live in his world where R6K for a console is value for money, the rest of us will live in reality

Maybe you should try a different electronic shop in the future??

Regarding exclusives, Ps3 has their own "natal" coming out, and I would think better exclusives.

God of War 3
Killzone 3
Heavy Rain just released
MAG
The Last guardian
MLB 2010
Gran Turismo 5
Resistance 3

And a couple of others I left out

The bottom line is that the Wii will outsell them both, they are fighting over last place.

True, but if we say that the PS3 and Xbox are competing for the next gen/HD prize, well then the wii is not even in the same race.

I'm not one for sales figures since personally it does not equate to how good a product is - Tamagotchis and the Macarena is enough proof of that.
Halo Reach will obviously sell really good, as will Splinter Cell Conviction to a lesser extent.

Wonder how FFXIII will do on the 360 platform - PS3 version is 1st on Amazon, X360 is 18th.

Strangely enough - I doubt it the folks at Nintendo care much as the money is the same cash with which the other two companies would kill for lining their pockets.
