Microsoft Flight Simulator

Are there any local servers or copies of the scenery or planes?
 
Just a question but can you guys download more detailed SA cities and airports?
 
I was about to download some files from aeroworx... but soon realised that it's not hosted locally... which sucks. Not going to finish my cap on that.

Sorry, that's the one below mine. It retails for just over R200.
 
I think, since SAIX hosts a Flight Simulator server, they should add some stuff like Service Packs, addons, scenery ect. to their File Vault FTP site, so we can download it locally.
 
It would be nice yes... I had endless troubles downloading a few planes yesterday. I tried getting that 76MB scenery update (local people, but hosted on avsim), all of the files work apart from file#5.... :mad:

Are the textures meant to look a bit block and and pixelly?

Im running a P4 3ghz D, 2gb Ram, 8800GTS, on 1024x768 x 32 and frame rates are still not ideal and gfx not the best either...
I dont think ill ever win, or maybe ive just got the wrong idea of how it should work on my spec machine... although im way above requirements...
Is the game old perhaps?
im expecting to much?

The graphics on FS2004 aren't "great" according to today's standards, but there's nothing wrong with them either. Maybe you have an issue on your PC somewhere.

I will post a screenshot of how my Flight Simulator X look (later), with my pc. Im running: Windows Vista, 2.6 GHz Dual Core 2, GeForce 8500GT 512MB. My Frame rates are +- 40.
just compare the ScreenShot graphics with how your FSX looks in-game.
