Is there any one in this forum that has got a marconi usb modem that is supplied by telkom that has succefuly used this modem and has been able to setup microsofts ics. I have contacted telkoms help line they cannot help.I have two pc's and would like to share the connection is this posible.

AFAIK, it is not specific to the modem, but rather the driver used by Microsoft for Broadband connections.

I'm using a driver from http://www.raspppoe.com/ to overcome this.

I have a usb modem and have shared it across our network of 6 computers.Im using windows xp and have not installed any other ics software. The other pcs are windows 98 and one xp pc.I had probs with the one xp pc but sorted it out(did not want to aquire a ip,but i left it with a static ip and put the ip of the server(xp)as the internet gateway(all the 98 pcs have dynamic ips).

Does it work on all sites?

What I have found is that the "slave" PC's work fine, until you want to enter a secure site, then it get stuck.

YES one of the slave pcs that we use to do online banking is not able to browse the secure part of the banks website.ANY ides why this is?

Shortcoming in the MS driver. These buggers (MS) actually knows about it, but don't do anything about it.

When I enquired about it, the MS support personel referred me to the site I quoted above.

Installed and working perfectly since.

THANKS ALOT GOING TO INSTALL THE DRIVER AND GIVE IT A TEST.
