Microsoft, Intel gambling on Windows 8

11-13 inch tablet running windows 8 - I have a tablet. At home or in my laptop bag I have the detachable keyboard and a wireless mouse. The tablet docks into the key board and I get extended battery life, optical drive, mini hdmi, and network and usb ports. I switch to Windows 7 style windows and use the device like traditional pc will full productivity.

1 device, best of both worlds. Bye bye frivolous Android and iOS - lets be honest, these OSs are not made for productivity, and from what I have seen, Windows 8 looks like the slickest and easiest to use touch OS...

Like an Asus Transformer with Windows loaded? Like the idea so long as they can keep the device small enough. All Windows tablets I've come across have basically been notebooks with touchscreens.

I have a similar device, only difference is that it runs Android, is always on, and takes up to 16 hours of continues movies/games/productivity before I need to search for a wall plug to feed it.

The best part is that its light enough to use as a e-reader without the need to do some weight training.

I am talking about my trusty Asus transformer, oh and even Microsoft states the have to drop desktop support to match it in battery life so its not really so groundbreaking as everybody think it will be. Pure metro vs iOS & Android? Yeah well I will have to see the apps before I would call it anything.

That has to be one of the worst articles I've half-read in a long time. Lies, deceit, stats manipulation, sensationalism, poor research and poor writing. The only time that article should ever be published is as an example of the falling standards of journalism, (which never had high standards to start with.) Shocking.

I was looking at the $100 a touchscreen adds to the price, and that is for sure too high. It will be a lot lower if you do it on a large scale.
