Microsoft is superstitious

Development started in 2006 while Microsoft was finishing work on Office 12, released as Microsoft Office 2007. The version number 13 was skipped because of the aversion to the number 13. It was previously thought that Office 2010 (then called Office 14) would ship in the first half of 2009; however Steve Ballmer has officially announced that Office 2010 will ship in 2010.

So either someone head honcho at MS is superstitious or they think a substantial number of their customers are superstitious. Kinda weird for a major company.

13 is a prime number thus a lucky number . Kind of weird that the row 13 is a missing row in aeroplanes... To be honest I don't care what version number they give it.

I think that those who believe in superstitions are crazy. i believe more in coincidences, but not to much.

I have seen quite a few buildings that have a 13th floor, but skip 13 in the numbering, and call it the 14th floor. Those who are indeed superstitous must realise that the count is still number 13, so don't know if it really helps in that case.
