Microsoft issues emergency patch

We've had a critical bug for much longer than that. It's called Windows.

But I do take my hat off to Excel - it's the single best thing MS has ever produced. Sad though, that it stands alone, esp. considering how may "products" they have...
 
Agreed re Excel. It is truly in a class of it's own. Word and Access are also easy to use and feature rich. I've had to learn how to use Access again after a few years of not using it, and I must admit that they have vastly improved the product.

Note that I never called Access a database :)
