How does one get it to work?

the 5 Key on the keyboard has a % at the top and a € at the bottom right.

How do I use the € symbol? (shortcut?)

I just noticed it now! Been trying all random combinations of shift, alt, ctrl, caps-lock and nothing...

Someone pointed it out to me as well.

Never seen it before but we do a lot of international work and now everyone wants to use it.

A lot is dependant on the keyboard driver in use & the font in use!

A sure fire way is to type: e u r o which has a 100% success rate! :)

Alt-Gr plus the 5 key should give the € symbol...

If you really must have the € symbol just use ALT plus 0128

Mine works in Ubuntu if I set the 'Adding EuroSign to certain keys' to '5', and don't have any other keyboard functions assigned to the Right Alt (AltGr), and then I can press AltGr + 5 to get the € symbol :D

Edit: my keyboard layout is US.

No Alt-Gr button on these keyboards, they use ALT+0128 but as someone has noticed the button they now want to use it instead.

Going to try download Microsoft's drivers for the keyboard and see if that helps.

Have a look here:

OK, a bit of a pain, but this seems to work on Win 7, other versions should be similar:

Control Panel, Region and language, keyboards and languages, Change Keyboards, Click the keyboard shown under keyboard, click add, choose US International, move up.

Click default language (above) and choose English (Souh Africa) - United States-International

The bolded bit is key.
