Uh... help me here people

What's new with the package - I don't mean in relation to the old MSN... but what does it have, for e.g. that Skype doesn't. Looks like MS are bragging about getting there last again? Anyone remember MS's original philosophy about the net when it was all newish to Joe Average?

I've been using Microsoft Live Messenger Beta for a couple of months now - It is pretty cool but nothing "wow" about it. It has active directory sharing, but so does Trillian.

The biggest upgrade was probaly the graphics

much the same with little bit better eyecandi and functionality. Been using the Beta's for ages - Quite happy with it.

Its definatley not revoloutionary like the article says.. but its nice.

How would the techies rate using the MS servers vs P2P with Skype for speed/latency/voice quality?

Only thing i like about it is the ability to use nicknames for ppl and not have their wierd names displayed.
