Microsoft nails cheaters - Secret Spring Update Feature

So it seems like Microsoft snuck in a little suprise for save game cheats in the spring update...

The largest save game database website is now pretty much useless and with the knowledge that Microsoft are watching them I doubt they will ever really get anywhere now...

Seriously why would people go through so much effort just to increase their gamer score... it would be meaningless anyway?

Anyway I wonder what else has been included in this patch that we don't know about?

Good ... cheaters suck.

Also another feature which I found that was great is those of us like myself that use the VGA output cable to a PC LCD monitor ... the colours do not look so washed out anymore.
 
Yeah I have heard that but I thought that was a stated fix...

My favourite change is now the achievment popup actually tells you what you got and how many points it was worth... Much much better way of doing it.
 
hell they better not find a way to take away the Chip's function! Pricing is way too skitzo out there man!
 
aw shame, if you can't afford the games you shouldn't be playing them...

They can easily brick your xbox over Live... it's not if it's when...

Well, aint like i don't pay anything, i buy games and a friend buys games, then we just both get it from one another, better than paying twice :P
 
Once you've purchased a piece of hardware it is yours to do with as you please. If Microsoft are deliberately destroying modified hardware, then they should be subject to legal action. If they sent someone to break into your home to smash your XBox that person would be arrested (hell in the US you'd be within your rights to kill the bastard scumbag on the spot), but they're allowed to get away with essentially the same vandalism over the internet.

Chipped PS2s are legal.

Remember buying games secondhand is just like stealing.

Crap, you are not forced to download the patch and if you do so and it breaks your console then Microsoft will fix it. However if you have voided the warranty then they are no longer liable.

I would say 1% of people who chip their consoles do it for really playing backups, the vast majority do it to steal games...

They would also most probably not destroy the hardware but rather stop it ever connecting to live or recognising copied games...

People who use legal loop holes to keep piracy alive should be jailed...
