Microsoft Office 2010

I'm hoping that one of you 'geniuses' will be able to help me.

We have a computer that was loaded with Office 2010 - The installation seems to have gone corrupt and I'm unable to finish the installation - The installer keeps asking for an Office(Outlook/Access/Excel)MUI file. I've gone through the installation disk and found said MUI file, but the installer doesn't accept said file.

When trying to uninstall Office, the uninstaller drops out and becomes non-responsive.

I'm at a bit of a wits end here - As I can download a fresh ISO of Office 2010 from MVLC, but that won't help as the laptop won't install/uninstall the darn thing...

Can any of you kindly assist me here? I'm happy to do a registry edit of the machine, but not too sure how to remove programs through the registry.

I remember a while back the problem lied with a missing XML file from groove.

If this is related to your problem, Here is a fix: http://www.putlocker.com/file/E2E829A330854431

Copy the setup.xml from the groove folder of the installation source, and paste it in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE14\Office Setup Controller\Groove.en-us\

Now run the uninstaller again

Why don't you just do a system restore and roll it back to before the Office installation?

Or just backup the user data and do full reinstall windows and MS Office.
