Microsoft forcing Outlook (New) onto consumers SATISFIED with Outlook (Classic) is unfortunate.
The file downloaded from my personal Microsoft Account portal doesn't include Outlook (Classic) in the streamed installation anymore.

Microsoft Support provides a new download link on the page https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb...ndows-pc-5c94902b-31a5-4274-abb0-b07f4661edf5 or you can download the "Offline Installation" package of more than 5 GB from the Personal Account Portal.

I'm considering trying the new Outlook against my personal preference, and don't have high hopes liking an app on my computer that functions a lot like webmail.

I understand the drive to new technology and application appearances but in this case, it feels I'm moving backwards due to limitations with the new Outlook.

Hopefully someone with more knowledge and wisdom can shed more light on this mess.

Regards,

Benniebez

Why no just use the web client
Go action for action using a desktop app versus webpage and see at the end of the day how much time you lose for the page to load after each function, or how much longer it takes online searching for an email compared to searching for the same email on your local app.

I don't think 365 include the old Outlook anymore, and don't quote me on this because it is a recent change. 2021/2024 still installs the old Outlook.

Huge frustration, there is simply no way I'll let anyone at my company use the new Outlook, it's terrible and does not even support something as basic as importing or opening PST files.

Now when installing office 365 I have to run two installers just to get all the apps I got previously and are paying for.:mad::mad:

I added PST support back in December to their roadmap, and it should have been available in January. This is basically what can be deemed as legacy support. The support capabilities are limited at this time. You will be able to add a PST database, but it is limited to reading the data. I also think that you can import PSTs now.

Here it is:

With this update of support for .pst files (a.k.a. Outlook data files) in the new Outlook for Windows, users will be able to move, copy, delete, flag/unflag, mark as read/unread, and set categories for email within .pst files. Additionally, users will be able to create, delete, move, and rename folders within .pst files. Future releases of new Outlook will expand the support for .pst file capabilities. #newoutlookforwindows, #pstfilesupport
