Bing's results are pathetic - I saw a "translated with Bing" message the other day on facebook, and just for fun also translated the Afrikaans post with Google translator...you can't even compare the results, Google was spot on, whilst Bing was completely incomprehensible.

Forget browser stats. I would LOVE to know how Bing Search stacks up to Google Search i.t.o hits.

I can't say I've ever heard some say : "Just bing it" ... sounds rather rude.

I recon M$ should stick to their core competency. Writing Windows, Office, VS2010 and XBox. (Note: mobile phones is not in that list)...but I digress.

I would hardly call their Xbox division "competent"
They gained market share despite the way that console worked, not because of it.

LOL. FWIW, I don't have an XBOX (I'm a PC gamer), but I thank XBOX for inspiring XBMC (which is not a M$ product I believe)

I actually really like bing and have felt that many times, the search results it gives me are alot more accurate than what google is serving up.

My problem is that I'm so accustomed to using google that i seldom go to bing, unless im really struggling and want to search multiple engines.

I think that some of the hate that bing gets is from google fanbois who are loyal to that product. Im keen to see what bing can produce, and I think it has the potential to be a real contender in the search field (it's already powering 30% of search?)

With regards to focussing on core products, maybe thats more relevent for Google!! Instead of expending so much time and effort on developing their own social network, perhaps the tired google search platform needs a bit of a revamp, especially considering that it must be their top money spinner still, and a decrease in numbers of searches is directly proportional to a decrease in ad revenue and profits.

I'll probably get flamed by PC gamers for this, but IMO two positive effects that XBox has had are that the PC seems to get more games these days, and the system requirements are not too excessive.

The more Google sabotage their own results the more traction alternatives like Bing and Duckduckgo will get.
