Microsoft has announced the launch of its new instant messaging service which synchronises with Outlook.

It seems peculiar. But it's actually good news - they've gone back to being a software company rather than The Windows Company. Nadella has been very clear about this. Personally, I find it refreshing and encouraging.

I agree; one also tends to lose sight of all the non-consumer type software that is being enhanced and released by them without the fanfare.
