Microsoft set to sue Google over software patents

The patent in question defines a method for a mobile device to obtain a map from one database, call up resource information such as the location of a hotel from a second database, and overlay the two sets of data.

Why should anyone be granted a patent for that idea?
It seems like the only possible solution for any internet search service, unless they propose that the competition merge whatever data into one database :wtf:

Huge profits, record sales. Most valuable company
And a court precedent that might or might not be overturned

But all that is crap.

Let it go. Android is excellent. So is iOS.
Android suits some, iOS suits others.

You dont have to knock the ecosystem you dont like to give credence to the one you do like.

Where did I knock any eco system in that post ? I was playing on apple's court cases to stifle Andriod.

HBee - I see your posts all over the place.
You dont miss a gap to knock Apple.

Even when you do knock them you get it wrong.

I abhor the patent systenm but its a horrible game that they all play.
I dont hate the winners. I dont sympathise with the losers

Its the rules of the game that are at fault

I'm waiting for Oracle to sue Microsoft for violating Java patents since C# was essentially Java with a few changes.

Microsoft are pretty good at signing royalty agreements.
They have a cross-license royalty deal with Apple as well so those 2 are nt fighting.

Its the new-tech companies that are in the battles mainly with the older-tech companies
Patent inventories are smaller so they have less leverage to do cross licensing deals
Thats why Google bought Motorola... expand their inventory
