1) Under a technical cooperation agreement, Novell and Microsoft will work together in three primary areas to deliver new solutions to customers: virtualization, web services management and document format compatibility.

2) Under a patent cooperation agreement, Microsoft and Novell provide patent coverage for their respective customers, giving customers peace of mind regarding intellectual property issues.

3) Under a business cooperation agreement, Novell and Microsoft are committing to dedicate marketing and sales resources to promote joint solutions.

Hmm

M$ and Novell to work together? I remember very well what happened the last time they tried :D
Hopefully Novell can bite back...

This is interesting news... do or die for M$ IMO - they must be feeling the pinch, or just had enough of the number of server users that have migrated...

Or... see what happens when uncle bill leaves M$ :D

On the other hand, this could be kind of like Telkom signing an agreement with Neotel....

Bill has sorta left MS. Not much he is doing there anymore. He is just an overseer and handing stuff over... actually wanting to make sure it doesn't go legs-up when he is gone  :(

Also, the numbers of server migrations to MS is actually in the positive. Specially on the DB side. :D
