Microsoft unveils new Edge logo

Microsoft has unveiled the logo for its upcoming Chromium-based Edge browser.

The logo was hidden inside a mini-game in the latest Canary versions of Edge.

The new logo looks is a blue-and-green-coloured wave in the shape of the letter “E” which bears little resemblance to Microsoft’s Internet Explorer logo.

This release isn't targeted towards your normal home consumer IMO. Microsoft is going straight for enterprise users. This being based on Chrome is going to make a lot of Web devs very happy.
 
Nice logo, but looks very firefoxy if u ask me....

The new Edge is very good and based on Chromium. The amount of Google tracking shenanigans removed by the Microsoft devs is hilarious. And the Android Edge browser is also Chromium and has ad blocking built-in. A very solid combo if you ask me.

I can understand why they need a new logo. So few people realise that Edge has had a complete makeover and is now based on Chromium. The public release is not far off now.

But yeah, not exactly an inspired design. Looks like a generic logo purchased in an online marketplace, and is too similar to Firefox.

Still no, Would rather use chrome, firefox & or Opera.
Would not touch that thing with a 10-foot pole

No, I don't. You're reinforcing my point above, that MS needs to rebrand so that people like yourself will be less inclined to think it's the same Edge as before.

The browser is completely different. It shares nothing but the name, which they should have changed going forward to avoid this exact issue. If you like Chrome then you already like the new Edge, which retains the best aspects but adds features like privacy, smooth scrolling and bookmark syncing for the ad-blocking mobile Edge browser.

Edge is actually really good for pdf, especially if you have a touch screen Edge is the only pdf reader that doesn't lag in my experience, no matter how good the hardware is.
I've stopped using Edge though after moving to Mendeley.

And with ublock being available through the store, it is actually a browser you can use, but I'm still on my trusty FF.
