How do you read this? I read it as you: get Windows 8 for a limited time :wtf: do you then get upgraded to Windows 7?

See this article:

http://mybroadband.co.za/news/software/62866-windows-8-launch-pricing-for-sa-emerges.html

Group lead for Windows at Microsoft SA, Colin Erasmus, explained earlier this year that South Africans would be able to buy the upgrade to Windows 8 from the Microsoft online store in US Dollars on launch day.

This lets users of the older versions of Windows upgrade to Windows 8 Pro for $39.99 (around R350 at the time of writing) using their South African credit card, Erasmus said.

Microsoft also previously announced another upgrade option of $14.99 for those who buy new PCs bundled with Windows 7 between 2 June 2012 and 31 January 2013.

I read it as for a limited time period, you will be able to get 8 at a lower price, thereafter normal price.

Thanks, I know about the discounted price. I was referring to the badly worded headline that can be interpreted as getting Windows 8 for a limited time when buying a Windows 7 PC, who knows what happens to your PC after that limited time. IMO it should read something like: For a limited time, buy a Windows 7 PC and get Windows 8 Pro at a low promotional price.

But anyway, would stick with Windows 7 if I was in that position :D
