I need a mid range multimeter. Not looking to sink a lot of cash into the likes of Fluke.

Bought one from AliExpress it’s totally inaccurate and frustrating to use.

Any suggestions for a mid range brand for a hobbyist.

What, why have I never thought to get one on takealot, I've gone through at least 5 of these R550 generic ones from the local pakki shops.

Ordering one of these now, then I'll lie to myself and say I'll go to bed just now.

I one from the same make. But I use it for diy purpose . It's still going strong after 3 years

I got a pair of Aneng 8009's from AlieX and they work great for hobby use.

R200 at Tonnesons. Auto switch off, good battery life (2 x AA)

Any of the uni-t multimeter are decent enough.

Depends on what hobbyist means - I would go for this

Remember this is ac amps only not dc amps.

I just got a BSIDE ZT301 off AliExpress for R130 on sale with free shipping.

Bside, Zoyi, Aneng, Richmeters etc are all made by zotektools.com, reviews aren't too shabby either.
