Synopsis
An exciting IT start up in the east of Pretoria is looking to add two mid to senior web developers to our ranks;
responsible for the development and maintenance of websites, web applications and databases for in house and contracted projects.
You must have the ability to work independently or be part of a team that builds and integrates interactive websites, applications, and services. Your job is to make our end-products work, which means developing Web applications and testing them on various browsers, enhancing and modifying them as necessary to ensure the best experience for the user.
Other purposes of the job include architecting websites, design data-driven applications, and finding efficient client-server solutions. You must have an in-depth understanding of the software development lifecycle and be able to communicate project status, issues, and resolutions.

Knowledge
- Salary R 20 000 - R 30 000 p/m based on experience
- Minimum 3 - 5 years relevant work experience
- Relevant degree or diploma - Beneficial but not required
- Proficient in PHP, HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL and Ajax - Essential
- Development of SQL server databases (MySQL and MSSQL) - Beneficial
- Knowledge of Flash ActionScript and programming frameworks (Zend, Telerik etc.) - Beneficial
- Experience in deployment of websites based on LAMP
- Ability to convert SRS and BRS documents as well as static designs to interactive web content - Essential
Daily Responsibilities
- Interpret written business requirement and technical specifications
- Assist in the planning and development of technical specifications
- Design, program, implement, document and maintain computerised business systems for the use over the Internet or Intranet
- Maintain and backup code daily
- Develop both internal and external website and web-based applications/features
- Research and develop new web technologies
- Provide continuous diagnostic support of applications and execution of web services
- Lead technical discussions and planning sessions
- Create, document and implement unit test plans, scripts and test harnesses
- Perform maintenance programming and correction of identified defects
