Midrand 3G coverage

Hi,

For a good 6 months i have been enjoying the 3G coverage in the Midrand (Halfway house) area, until mid March, when my 3G coverage has just vanished, has there been any changes to the midrand towers? so frustrating

Any ideas on whats going on.

MTN 3G loadshedding, they dont have enough towers so they loadshed between areas, did you not know.

tdm, PM me your physical addy and will get a site engineer to have a look at this.
Also include your phone # as well as handset/device info and prob duration.
FYI, 3G sites breathe quite regularly depending on number of users closer to site but this should not be a problem for more than a few hours (or in fact minutes)

Yeah i did know that the towers do that... its just that im not getting any signal what so ever

Just a side thing, can the nokia 6680 make use of the new HSDPA or only normal 3G... OK Nevermind, just found out, you cant, but HSDPA handsets should be available later this year

3G on vodacom is the best in Midrand...
Unfortunately Midrand is stuffed with all these little townhouses and complexes in the area and the concentration of 3G users is much higher, thats why the data speeds are so slow!

Just an update, got the calls from the technicians and the likes, nothing absolutely nothing, still no 3G coverage, even though it was there before... so sad... oh well, Vodacom here i come

This is really bad news man. I was planning on getting myself one of those new mtn branded HSDPA cards later this week. I stay in Midrand too. I have to warn you though, vodacom is horrible in midrand.

I was hoping i could move to MTN and all my problems will be solved. But if not, oh well!

I have a vodacom 3G card and a 6680, i have tried both sims vodacom and my orginal sim MTN... found vodacom works better... but its a mission topping up my prepaid sim with vodacom, when i have a mtn data package, which im not using anymore because i cant get 3G speed

I have the exact same problem, but in reverse. I have a Vodacom contract, that i dont want to use. And a mtn pre-paid (using for EDGE) i have to buy airtime for the whole time.
