Hi All, thanks for all the info on the site, a great help.

Is there anyone out there in the midrand area?
I am looking to join sentech, but would like to confirm the signal strength and availability before signing up for 2 years. So if there is someone who has a laptop and a modem who can come over to check it out for me that would be excellent.
Do they (Sentech) do this test at all?
Canyou test the system before buying?

Secondly, i will be needing to set up a network of 2 PC's and 1 macintosh. Do you have to be really jacked technically to do this?
I would like to have a machine acting as a firewall which all the other machines would like to in order to connect to the internet.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. I have had a signal test done - try phoning JustConnect on +27837468190. They charge a call-out fee but it's worth saving you all the effort.

Definitely sounds like someone subsidising their connection []
or using it for something other than web browsing, downloading etc. I'm sure someone will help you out with no need to pay call out fees.. remember - this isnt telkom

Most of the area South of New Road is zoned, North of New road you will have to wait for the samrand tower for which they are awaiting Impact study aproval ... once they get that it'll be 4 weeks to switch on ... i live in Midrand so give me a shout if you want me to come do a test ....
