Migraine splitting throbbing headache

Is it only a headache. Please ensure your neck and back is not sore as well. Otherwise it could be serious.

Sounds like a bad headache. Probably not a migraine. A migraine is pretty serious and people often misdiagnose themselves with migraines, probably because they have never actually had one before. If you have had a confirmed migraine, then you would know exactly how bad it maes you feel.

BTech, sleep is the only thing that works for me. Have a snooze - no pills are more effective...

Started at the base of my skull and has progressed into my right eye?

See your doctor if the headache is bothering you and don't rely on advice on forums, except to seek medical attention.

Go see a doctor. Do you have a drooping eye lid (since you say it has moved to your right eye)? I had a very similar experience, turned out to be cluster headaches (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cluster_Headaches). Damn terrible, but they can give you meds to sort it out. I have been free of these headaches for 6 years now. Oh, and don't let the term cluster headaches fool you, these things are worse than migraines.

Since I woke up this morning..not hangover since I never drank yesterday..taken 6 adcodol tabs so far..no relief..tips pls

Quickest and best solution is to go to a pharmacy and ask for a Migraine injection. R20.00+ only. I usually ask for a voltaren injection but there is one a bit stroger and more effective. It usually works within minutes to max 3/4 hours. They also generally have the Migraine mix of tablets that works as an aditional preventative measure, R90.00 for 5 sets, 3 pills per set.

The term cluster refers to clustering or grouping of the headache.
There is no connotation of intensity with any of the terms: migraine, trigeminal neuralgia, tension headache, classic migraine, chronic daily headache, etc.

The term cluster refers to clustering or grouping of the headache temporally.

The issue with visiting the doctor is to exclude serious causes of the headache and not as much
for the relief of symptoms which can often be achieved with over-the-counter meds.

+1, a bad headache is not a migraine.

When you can not open your eyes because ANY light makes your head want to split, and you want to throw up because of the pain you might have a migraine.

Hope you don't still ahve a head ache Btech.

A migraine is a headache which typically produces one sided throbbing like pain. However a bilateral (both sided) throbbing pain
is often a migraine too. A migraine does not have to be seriously bad and
photophobia (light causing eye pain) is not always present. Some migraines
are painless even and can present with temporary or even prolonged
paralysis of an arm or leg. Nausea or vomiting may occur but does not have to.

If it's migraine, and i doubt it (you wouldn't be able to look at your screen, Tunnel vision, slurred speech, No concentration, Kotsing your lungs out and if you are lucky like me your whole left side of your body goes to sleep pins and needles feeling) aspirin will only make it worse, a headache is when your veins have narrowed and the blood is forcing its way through. Migraine is enlarged veins with too much blood going through, drinking aspirin makes the blood thinner and the migraine worse.
For death headaches take Myprodol or a muscle relaxer.
For Migraine ask for pethadine, mixed with something for the nausea. And have someone drive you home.

;) Good luck, Maybe stop looking at the screen as well, sometimes the glare is making it worse.

I WANT MIGRAINE'S LIKE THAT!!! UNFAIR!!!
But if it's not bad why take meds?

The advice regarding aspirin is incorrect, although at usual doses aspirin is quite a weak pain reliever in general and can cause stomach problems anyway.

Even Paracetamol gives me stomach aches at times. I've also had bad head aches for a week now :(

Panado doesn't cause stomach lining injury itself, although a high pill burden in itself (when taken with too little water) can cause esophagus injury
(pipe between mouth and stomach) via mechanical means (abrasion).
