The European Commission has proposed reforms to EU asylum rules that would see stiff financial penalties imposed on countries refusing to take their share of asylum seekers.

The bloc's executive body is planning a sanction of €250,000 (£200,000; $290,000) per person.

Wouldn't be applicable to Britain, they are outside Schengen.

It even says so in the article. The OP has a ballsed-up link though, this is a working link http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-36202490

It doesn't matter if it would apply to Britain, it is a disgusting move.
Why would Britain want to belong that institution?
The EU is obviously a cancer in Europe, and is hostile to the majority of Europeans, which is exactly the opposite of what they are being paid to be BY Europeans.

Well, it does matter in context to the post I quoted and answered ;).

Europe I feel nothing for, their pc bs will be their downfall eventually.

If you go through European history it's normally the other guy who comes off worse when the Europeans eventually lose their cool, they put up with crap for a while and then it all goes to hell with a whiff of annihilation.

Brussels will be invaded, their health minister put on a diet, and their chocolate given to the Congo.

Policies like this are probably going to cause a shift in European politics towards the right. You can already see it with how Angela Merkel is now struggling in the elections. She lost a lot of popularity because of how she handled the migrant issue, and this will only make it worse.

It becomes an us vs them issue - how charitable are we really willing to be? Especially when your charity cases turn round and rape women en masse. Would make you less inclined to be charitable in future.

I Love the EU in their original concept and business practices, but DE's stance on accepting the migrants is flawed. Yes I accept that DE lost a brutal war and are continually on a guilt train, but this is wrong. If you know the number of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gastarbeiter from Turkey in DE, I can only foresee civil unrest with the new arrivals. not a way to run a continent.

No Americans to bail them out this time. They have now chosen the same road to disaster.

I'm talking 1000 years, not just 100 years. And arguably, the yanks only bailed out one side of the Europeans involved in those little flare ups ;).
