Mikrotik help wanted

Hi everyone,

I need help in configuring my mikrotik router. I can ping everything local and external from my router, but not from my pc through the router, also no browsing. I have tried everyting, including reading the manual and extensive google research.

I'm willing to part with a good bottle or 2 of excellent boutique red wine, if someone are able to contact me either on 0836468333, or [email protected] or prefferably using skype_id, albie_cilliers.

Did you set the Mikrotik as the default gateway on your PC?
Can you ping the Mikrotik from your PC?

Perhaps you missed adding the src nat rule to NAT your IP as it goes out the adsl interface? If that is the case a rule like this may fix you up
/ ip firewall src-nat
add out-interface=adslint action=masquerade disabled=no

replace adslint with the name of your adsl interface

I don't know if it is your first comment regarding setting the gateway on the computer to the router, or a couple of NAT and Firewall rules I added since this afternoon, but it suddenly works! This is after days of suffering on my own and hours of reading through any references to mikrotik on the internet.


Best of all asmith, I already tried setting the pc gateway address to the router before and it didn't work, so maybe a combination of things this time. Now I just have to figure out again exactly what it was. Your src-nat rule is not applicable to my situation, since my adsl interface is not directly connected to the router. I'd still gladly offer you a bottle of wine (privately of course) if you enjoy drinking it, that is. Please drop me a pm.

Anyhow, I am browsing just fine now and a lot quicker than through my previous senao client bridge it seems. Thanks to you guys that offered to help.
