Mikrotik RB2011UiAS-2HnD: Activiting SNMP - Help needed

I'd like to enable SNMP in order for "Networx" from Softperfect to be able to monitor the traffic at the router level.

Came across these instructions:

Once you have configured the services to your liking it's time to look at other ways to interface with the router, first up is SNMP which is used by a lot of programs to monitor devices (I.e. The Dude)

SNMP is disabled by default and if you have other means of monitoring devices it is safe to leave disabled. I prefer to use The Dude to monitor my network so I will go ahead and enable access and set some helpful fields

/snmp set enabled=yes [COLOR="#008000"]location[/COLOR]=”The Matrix” [COLOR="#008000"]contact[/COLOR][email protected]

Question from me: What does "Location" refer to and how is it used by RouterOS. Is there a specific name related to my existing network that I need to put in there, or can I put anything in there (same for contact)

Location means where is the physical device situated. Ie. like floor number, an address, etc.

You can put anything in there so it make sense to you or staff where the device is.
