Hi,

I hope someone can help me. I have the above router and I am trying to setup my Unotelly primary and secondary DNS. When I go into IP -> DNS, I have my primary and secondary DNS servers from unotelly next to "Servers" And then I have 2 IP addresses next to "Dynamic Servers" starting with 41.160. I keep on getting "UnoDNS Setup is incomplete" and I have a feeling it is because of these two dynamic servers. I have no idea how to remove them.

Please can someone assist me, thanks.

Disable the "use peer dns" setting on the dialup connection you have to neotel I assume. It should be a pppoe connection where you need to remove it.

Thanks for the Feedback Tinuva, I have unchecked 'Use peer DNS'. The strange thing is when I go into DNS and click on 'static' there is no field for DNS 1 and 2, so I am actually not sure where to from here. I am with Neotel.

In DNS, to get the static fields, you need to click on the down button right of the field, then it becomes usable. You click it twice to be able to add 2 dns servers.

Ah thanks so much. So then at the moment, on the main DNS Settings page I have
Servers where I entered the primary and secondary DNS servers from Unotelly and then I have the 2 Dynamic Servers 41.160.x.x.

Do I just take out the above 2 servers I entered and go into the 'Static' screen and add the 2 unotelly DNS servers? What about the Dynamic servers. Should they be there or can I remove them, and if so, how would I remove them? I think these 2 dynamic servers are causing issues with my unotelly setup.

You shouldn't enter the server IP's under the "static" DNS section, that's for static DNS<>IP mappings. Your DNS server IP's should be listed on the same window as your dynamic servers.

By the sounds of it, you only need to disable the "Use Peer DNS" as Tinuva mentioned, to get rid of the dynamic servers. Some OS versions has a bug where it keeps the dynamic DNS server IP's, so you might have to reboot.

Thanks controlc. I did reboot the router and they were still there. I will have to keep looking
