Hi guys,
I am having issues with Vox, and their Mikrotik router. Firstly, they wont allow access to the thing, and I gave have them instructions to do Port Forwarding and setting up a No-ip DDNS account. Secondly it does not look like there is anyone there that can assist. So you really cant verify that it was done correctly.

Its been back and forth, and everytime you get someone who gives a different story, and in rush to close a ticket.

My client's DVR can only interface with No-P and DynDNS. But it am not sure if Mikotik can be setup for this DDNS service. I read it comes with it own DDNS service, but as indicated only NOIP and DynDNS is supported in DVR.

With my TP-link router is childsplay.

Any advise? Replace router??

Any client should, or, "have someone" motivated manage the firewall / Router.
Once this is solved, move forward.

1. You have two logical issues now:
a. Need DDNS.
This is simply text that map to an IP.
Use the Mikrotik DDNS. Zero effort.

b. NAT to DVR.
Do / have the the NAT port mapping done to the DVR.

2. Now test.
i. From world connect on current WAN IP.
=> If port map is correct the DVR will work.

ii. From world connect to Mikrotik DDNS name.
=> Should work.

Detailed networking steps omitted.

You can do the dynamic DNS on both the miktotik and the camera. I use no-ip on one of my routers, and a different dynamic DNS provider on my server both work independently of each other.

To set up port forwarding, you go to IP....firewall and add a dnat rule. Make sure you know what port the cameras are on, as that will be the port you will forward

You can ask to sign an indemnity form, and I think they'll give you the password and username to the router. Or you can reset the router and connect via DHCP if you know how.

Thanks guys, it looks like we manage to sort out the access. I am able to view the system (DVRs) from outside LAN from Mobile and Web.

I am impressed wih their 24 hours support, which is plus, and support always calling you back, even in evenings...great stuff!
