So I decided to try one of these.
scoop.co.za
Not sure if the performance below is to be expected or if there's something I need to change on the router itself. The network used is MTN.

In about 50% of the tests conducted, I've got 30 odd ms ping, but then the upload drops to roughly 0.5Mbps when the ping is low. At best I get between 6-10Mbps upload, but a very high ping as above.
On the little MTN ZTE Mifi router, I get this consistently

Both routers are placed on exactly the same spot.
For reference, here's what my phone gets, also MTN and also at the same spot.

Has anyone managed to get decent performance with these MikroTik routers using MTN?
