Is 188,729km too much for a motorbike? How long do they usually last?

This is for the Suzuki GSX-R400 from my other thread.

WAAAAAAAAAAAY to many KM's imho. I just bought a Buell XB9SX (06) with a whopping 12 000km on the clock. 188 000km is actually insane mileage, especially for a 400 as it's very unlikely the previous owner used it for touring or long distance riding. What year model is it?
I have seen TL1000's with 55000km+ and I consider that to be quite a bit. My last bike ('98 Suzuki 750 Bandit) was bought with 18 000km on it.

Are you sure it has that much on the clock? Being a 400 it's a grey import and 99% chance it's from Japan.... Japan is pretty small and they don't keep bikes for very long so the mileage is normally less than 30 000km from my experience. I dunno, sounds a bit extreme.

EDIT: Are you sure it's not 18 872.9km?

lol, then I reckon if the bike itself is in good nick then the mileage is fine. Just check it out really closely as a lot of those bikes will be pranged bikes that were repaired.

Enjoy it if you get it :D
