Hi Guys: is there a way of checking if a vehicles mileage has been reversed ?

You can have a look in the OBC records, if you can get a piece of kit to access it...

If the vehicle doesn't have an OBC, then probably not no.

You can phone the dealership with the vin number and they can tell you which services were done when. That should give you an idea.

Also see if there is a service book? If it was serviced last year at 76 200km and now its on 50 000km... ja well.

Another hint might be to check how smooth the steering wheels surface is compared to other of the same mileage.

I am looking into the VW Polo the newer model( 2013) and the Vivo GT.

The thing is i can drive a car till 29K with just one service 15K and return the mileage to 0, drive it till it gets to 30k do the service and so and so, thus making sure that the service book correspond with the mileage.

I am looking into getting the Madam a car and had a guy with a Vivo GT 50KM and he had new 17" mags that costs about 20k. No way imma put 20k worth of rims on a car, drive it for 50km and sell it
