So I just noticed that we our next series is late Sep and Oct vs Bangladesh followed by Aus next year March. Why is there such a big gap this year? We always have a boxing day test I thought? Anyone know why this year we have no cricket over summer? Growing up I always saw that "come on summer" TV advert building up to the cricket and hear I find myself cricketless with a Bangladesh series and then a 4 month gap.

Did CSA just mess up and not organise something?

With the T20 Global League in November-December and The Big Bash in December-January there is no international team available.

Thanks. Interesting. Seems like Cricket is headed more in the soccer direction where you have bigger regional/local team events and less international team events. Probably better for the sport as it means far more players can get paid a decent salary, also raises the profile of the world cup level events as big international events are rarer.

India is playing the December - January period

Good day all. I'm a huge cricket fan. And yes, I agree with Cius (Mind the gap). I have also followed cricket all these years and he is right though. Cricket has always come up on television around summer. I can remember that around summer in SA i would look out for the cricket dates every year (Year end) and prepare to watch with my father. So yes, i agree that is part of our tradition. It would be cool to keep it up.

And yet you don't get better at cricket by not playing it.

How do the get better if they have this fragile mentality that keeps on getting hammered? It's like they have a hive brain. But it's connected to a kaka thinker. One source of kaka. It's a shambles currently all because the didn't get rid of this *** coach ages ago.

India's South African tour dates still not confirmed

Cricket SA (CSA) president Chris Nenzani has said it was frustrating that dates for India's summer tour have yet to be confirmed.

India were scheduled to tour South Africa at the end of the year with the first test starting on December 26, but with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) having scheduled a return series against Sri Lanka, that could run into mid-December.

They will not arrive in time for the Boxing Day - December 26 - test.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India have to confirm dates for the inbound Sri Lanka tour and the South Africa tour.

"Obviously it is frustrating and it is a matter we need to engage," Nenzani said.

"It is an issue that we need to put finality to because the issue of scheduling and putting schedules together comes naturally. We've agreed on content and the issue is now how do we fit in that content.

"It's a very frustrating experience but we are always hopeful that we can find something workable.

"If you don't have a centrally controlled Future Tours Programme, these issues are going to come up. But if the International Cricket Council promotes test cricket, you have to give everybody a fair chance and also their place in the sun," he added.
