Good day,
I have a Mini Cooper that cuts out and start missing after doing 120km/h for a while.
What could be the problem?
I changed the coil pack and the plug wires but the problem persists.

Does it start right up after cutting out? If you battle getting it started again then it could be your fuel pump.

Neighbour had same problem, but before 120hm/hr. Was a fuel filter but cannot remember exactly where it is located

Thank you for your response.
I does start up but seems to run at reduced power for a while.
I will check the pump pressure and replace the fuel filter and hopefully the problem will be sorted.

The problem is you bought a Mini Cooper. That was your first mistake.
Second mistake you bought a Mini without being a mechanic
Thirdly if you were a mechanic you would know how Mini service agents like to stuff up the minis, and its better you service it yourself.

Sorry but you need to find a decent non-BMW mechanic.

replace ,pump and filter ,otherwise you be chasing your tail and will do that really poopy job twice .edit ,i mean the whole module not just the pump in the tank and then nylon strap it into place like ive seen in the old module ,they not expensive unless you got a S .then cry.both mostly under the seat ,one cover is pump one is filter ,do it once and look inside tank when empty for detritus .also do diagnostics first it may be elsewhere .

What year and mileage on the mini? Cause I doubt it's fuel filter if it has like 30k on it.

What gen Cooper? R50 or R56 or F55? Some are highly prone to issues & some are less prone to issues.

Are they really that cheap, I mean if I can get one for R50 I might actually be able to afford it

No wonder it can't do 120km/h

The R50's are going p-cheap these days.

They're (supposedly) are the higher risk for big bills.

Around R50k side will get you a base Cooper, the S is not that much more. The last of the line later models S R50's look to be around an easy under 100k. This is CT pricing, so Jozi might be a tad more cheaper than that even.

Good luck trying to find an independent mechanic willing to work on a Mini Cooper. My wife had endless problems with her second-hand Mini Cooper and had no choice to use the services of the BMW dealership to sort it out. No independent mechanic wanted to touch it with a ten-foot barge pole.
