mini Cooper s

Also, go to any BMW dealership and go see the Mini next sales person. They will let you test drive anything you want. I guarantee you will leave with a fat grin on your face.

That's how I got mine - had some time to kill, so I took the kids along to have a look, took one for a test drive, and placed an order within a week.

haha yea cant ever imagine fitting 4 ppl in a car like that. i think i would even struggle with groceries and gym bag :D

The only thing I can shed light on is that I have noticed quite alot of gays in Cape Town drives a mini. Other than that its a really nice looking car - wouldnt mind owing one myself.

:D

Would not mind owning a original Mini Cooper S or even a Clubman though.

also looking for a 2nd hand cooper s and from everything i have heard, and the people i have spoken with, there seem to be no major issues regarding reliability. obviously, purchasing a turbo'ed car, it is always better to play it safe, and make sure that it is still under motorplan, but besides that, nothing major to look out for. The only major gripe i have with the car is how crappy the standard sound in it is (and how good the HK premium sound is in comparison). While it is not a cheap option, in my books it is absolutely worth the money...

Get a Mini (non S), I had one for 5 years. What a ride! Bought for R180 000 +/- sold for R115 000 (actually traded it in, so you tend to get less).

test drove one with the upgrade speakers and my goodness it sounds awesome :)
still have to make up my mind though

No clue what you guys are talking about. I have a 2004 cooper and the sound is great. It isn't a Bose system but its much better than most cars standard sound.

Did they install inferior sound with the later models?

well, in comparison to my current car (E36 328i) the standard sound I found lacked bass, and the treble was very tinny). Obviously I may be setting the bar a bit high, but to me sound quality is very important as I love my music. From the limited research I have done on the net, it is not actually a problem with the speakers, but more an issue with the amp built in to the front-loader (head unit). Also I have read in certain places that it is some kind of wiring issue that can be solved relatively easily (using the incorrect outputs or something like that).

The premium sound (6k optional extra) is made by Harmon Kardon (and sounds absolutely amazing), but due to the fact that the A-pillar is different (incorporates a tweeter) this can not be installed in post-factory.

Im trying to find seat covers for my 2006 mini s in durban. Any store suggestions?
