Welcome to the forum. When you say "productivity" I'm assuming you mean an office machine?

Be a bit more specific wrt the the apps you will be using and please provide a budget.

Also keep in mind that AMD Ryzen CPUs will be releasing very soon so it might be worth your while to wait a bit.

Apologies for taking long to get back to you,what I actually would like to be able to do with the machine is be able to run VM's on it for studying and do a bit of gaming on it. Im looking at a budget of about 8k.

Wait for ryzen to release so we can see the price vs performance.

R8k is not going to cut it though especially on a mini-itx build as things are more expensive.
