This smells suspiciously like they're planning another "consortium" like they did with etolls...private-public "partnership". RIP taxpayer.

Joemat-Pettersson also wants the auditor general to form part of the office.

The what now? The AG is specifically a separate office so that they can provide (somewhat) independent oversight.

Honestly that would be a better deal IMO. Let Rosatom own and operate the reactors, then fix the price of power for 10 year intervals.

Sort of. So far Russia are the only ones to indicate that they'll "subsidise" it, so this pretty much forces the deal into their pockets, while being afforded certain relaxations on procurement requirements for IPP deals.

It's basically a way to guarantee the deal to Russia and open the door for corruption, under the guise of it being beneficial to the taxpayer. It's complete nonsense...
