What I know about cars is dangerous so can someone please tell me what gets replaced or checked with each.

Ta!

I do not take my car advice from a man who'd not seen a hooker. You fail at manliness!

:D:D :p

Minor service will be oil and filters, major will be oil, filters, fresh hydraulics, plus replacement of certain items. It is listed in your handbook.
Handbook you say? The one I didn't get with the car? :)

This is an old skedonk. Its now on 350k kilos and I see a sticker on the inside of the door frame that says it was last serviced on 302k. Its my dad's that I'm using for a while.

Its an early 90's Corolla

I'm never going to live that down :(

It should consist of oil change, oil filter change, spark plugs if petrol, fuel filters, safety check IE all ball joints, tyres, steering, suspension leaks , suspension springing, all lights working, all fluids at correct level , fan belts tension, belts in good shape, anti freeze strength, Seat belts working, washers wipers good condition and working, that is a basic service but now days there are some places do what is called a small service which is only and engine service, which are the first 4 items on this listing

Now THAT is a more manly response!

bwaahahahahahahahhaha ...my new signature :D
:D

The expensive thing at a major is replacing the cambelt/timing belt etc. This requires a lot of labour - which is the expensive bit.

Minor services are simple consumables: oil, filters, spark plugs.

I'm not expecting a major difference in fuel consumption, but do you guys think it might make a difference if I have it service?

It uses quite a bit.

idk if 90's corolla is fuel injection or not, if not;

Depends, if carb tuning is out or the jets are clogged they can make your fuel run too rich. carb cleaning & tuning is a bit of a bitch to do though, but you could do it yourself with a decent youtube tutorial.

OP CAN YOU POST A PIC OF UR CAR PLEASE :D

Thanks for the heads up. How recent is that PDF? I see it's R900

Very recent. I've gave my car for service to them last week. The only thing that cost me a lot was the cam belt. R1.8K for the cam belt and labour.

:wtf:R1.8K? I paid R350 for my cambelt and paid nothing to have it put on. Honda Luxline parts are expensive but I was quite surprised how cheap it was.
