Anyone else keep getting disconnected from Mintek Tower since last night?

I've been disconnected no less than 30 times. It just loses the signal and then comes back quite quickly :(
 
Had the same problem on Aasvoelkop. Upgraded to the new firmware and no disconnects since. You can find it at ftp.nowire.co.za Username and password: nowire
 
thx man. Why all of a sudden though?

This firmware has been working flawlessly for 14 months.
 
As far as I know they upgraded the base stations - hence the new firmware. Did you upgrade? How stable is your connection after the upgrade?
 
Haven't upgraded yet. I upgraded once before and it didn't connect so I'm a bit scared :(

This modem was brought in from the UK or something, so I dunno if its the same as the ones they sell here.
 
You can always go back to the old version if the new one doesn't work. Both are on the site I gave you so you shouldn't have a problem. You can try www.proasm.com for the other versions. It's relatively easy to switch between them.
 
Ok, I flashed it :)

Let's see how long I can stay connected for. My record in the last 24 hours is 30 minutes :P

Bootloader still says 4.2.1.8, is that correct?
 
Your bootloader will always say that. The application version is the important one. That needs to state the new one. PM me if you have any hassles.
 
It's still cocked :(

Managed to stay connected for 25min the 1st time, and 1hr45min the 2nd. But now its doing it as frequently as before.

I hate Sentech so much. And I hate Telkom even more for running fibre in my area so I can't get ADSL.
 
Well, I work there. If you want me to go up on the roof and kick the antennas a few times, just let me know :-P
