mIRC send/receive speed

Hi there, no this is not warez related, so **** off.

I only get max 10.5k receive speed, nothing above that. Any idea how I can use my full 512k for receiving? Even if it's just 30kb/s

I put this under a different post, but it is a good bit of software to use:

These are my results off a bad connection which hovers around 10% signal strength on my 128kbs mywireless

mIRC uses DCC so it depends entirely on the upload bandwidth of the other user. You can also try adjusting the packet size in the settings.

tried that, and my friend is on 512k upload (in england) so yea.. ??

Have you tried to FTP from him? If you get much better speeds then it is definitely something to do with the DCC settings.
