Has anyone purchased goods from them, and if so, did you have to register as a dealer? Or did you just walk in and purchase what you wanted?

Thanks

Hi Choc,

You will have to register as adealer to buy from them. Their service is relly good.

Thanks for the response Ghatto.

What does one need to register as a dealer with them?

Ghatto is right about them having great service but IIRC they have separate dealer and public pricelists which means that an ordinary Joe can walk in off the street and buy whatever they desire; only for a little more than a registered dealer.

I've been dealing with them for nigh on a year now and (at least the JHB branch) are some of the most capital guys you could hope to meet and buy from.

You don't have to be a registered dealer to purchase from Miro. Just phone them up, place an order, and remember to rock up with CASH on their premises. They don't have a card facility. Well, they didn't last time I went there. You can do internet banking transfers onsite too, if you need to.

Their sales staff are very helpful, and they almost always have stock. All in all a painless experience.

Thanks guys

One last question (promise) :-)

Is the pricelist that I downloaded from them website the dealer prices or "Joe Public" prices

If they are dealer prices, what is the premium I need to add to get "Joe Public" prices?

Thanks

*edit* I see the priceslist says "Retail" so I assume that's what I will pay...

hey, i bought a broadband wireless router from them. I didnt have to register as a dealer. The prodcut is awsome (if a little pricey) R1000

However, the router I got is really a no name brand thingy. I cant find any branding on it to research and tweak a little more. Not even the web interface to control it has branding.

Really wierd, but still a great product

OK, well while I'm in a bad mood.

I must have connected with a bad Miro salesman, and as I admire their push into Asterisk, I am loathe to say this, but...

i) I had to email in three times just to get a reply for my request for a quote
ii ) the cable arrived with the connectors falling off
iii) I've had no answer to my email to said salesman asking for help
iv) my hot spot has fluctuating power and when my users on the Avenue get irritated enough to call me, I've got to go out every few days to screw around with the cable.

Anyone live around Norwood with a crimper I can borrow? Sigh.

What cable were you pulling on that night?

Hey daffy i think youd better stay just were you are because the stuff i heard about uniterm...i won't even go there! sorry about that man...perhaps in a years time

i've been to many companies in my life,no one compares to miro with regards to service, and support.

I must agree, i phoned the guys and placed my order in a jippy. Rocked up there and everything was sorted completely. I now am a registered client at miro and will not waste time anywhere else..... keep it up guys

Is it as clear for everyone that Mr Yoghurt works for Miro and has nothing better to do on this forum then dis- the opposition and P off clients!!!!!

I recently bought a 22dBi grid from the JHB office for Big-Ass(tm) MyWi usage at long range. Good news is the antenna does a sterling job. Bad news was that the mounting bracket kit had 2x pole-side parts instead of 1 each of a pole-side and grid-side, a BAD thing to have happen on a job in front of a client. Took the kit back to Miro who:
1. straight up replaced the offending kit
2. the boss credited me the cost of the antenna -for a Poynting antenna kit!
This, to me, is the essence of customer service. This is the kind of thing that motivates me to keep going back to them, as well as tell people about it -the kind of thing that people are less motivated to do.

But that's not all! :) I expressed my displeasure to Poynting too (I REALLY detest a job getting screwed up 'cos someone else dropped the ball on me!) and their response was similarly enlightened: the mail I got from the CEO was a model response- hell, I'm keeping it as inspiration should I end up on the receiving end of a complaint like this!
