I just want to find out WTF is mirror.ac.za doing??? I download fedora 9 right. But they keep on changing the files around and renaming the directories! WTF? This is like the 6 time. I have the iso of fedora 9 like 93% done now it says no such file or directory and when I checked they changes the directory. May I ask why?:)

Its done just to ruin your day.

I doubt there is a legitimate reason for it. And if there is, I don't think you'll find out what it is.

Aww its ok now im just downloading with flashget so if it change I can like just change the directory! So thats cool. But I have to actually start over now! *sigh*

Fan of UNIX? Console apps?
1. Download wget for win32 (http://users.ugent.be/~bpuype/wget/#download)
2. Put it in %WINDIR%
3. Start -> Run -> cmd
4. cd to directory where you want to download to
5. wget -c -m <ftp://path-to-web-path/dir/> to mirror directory with resume support
5. wget -c <protocol://path-to-web-path/dir/file.ext> to download file with resume support

wget - the best download utility ever. all it needs now is multithreading support :)

Hi There,

There have been one or two issues around the fedora stuff. This is primarily related to the anycast and the mirrors not being in sync because of disk space problems on the Johannesburg servers. This should be fixed after thursday once the new array arrives (we're adding 12 terabytes on thursday which will leave the servers equal at 18 terabytes each)

If you have a problem though, [email protected] will always get back to you pretty promptly

I guess I was wrong about there not being a legitimate reason. Apologies all round & respect to mirror.co.za for responding fast.
