This is very much a "how long is a piece of string" type question, but to those in the field, what do you think a market related salary for "Management Information Systems" be? Specifically within a call centre environment.

Duties:

Measuring KPI's, KPA's, reporting, adherance, scheduling, forecasting etc etc

4 years in a similar position [Although less complex]

Don't wanna reveal industry, spies everywhere 0.o Although it is a large corporate company

No tertiary education, working towards a diploma

Not sure about the call centre environment, but the MIS people in banking get roughly R300k to R600k CTC. Assuming they're doing anything remotely complicated.

No tertiary education could be a problem though.

Can tertiary education effect pay? I understand it effecting the selection process. Its an internal move and if successful I will be trained into the position, thus far I am one of 2 shortlisted candidates.

Yes especially in the corporate environment where HR determines salaries.

Its usually a prerequisite for these kind of jobs. Especially corporates.

Yes it will affect pay.

Internal move so your knowledge of the company will be a positive.

You will be trained? then why bother about the package? once you in the job and trained and doing it well for a while, you can then address the moola side of it. This sounds like a good opportunity ...

Its an awesome opportunity, I would move even if the pay was lateral.

im in an MIS position ....not close to anything like that

what do those MIS guys do ?

300k CTC doesn't mean you'll get anywhere near that out, 300k here and you can expect to get 15-16K out pm sigh.

I can speak for Credit MIS. They do portfolio type reporting ie calculations for analysis like vintages, roll rates, credit loss ratio's, default forecasting etc etc.

Quite different from IT MIS who primarily do extractions, summarising data etc as far as I know.

yeah the analysis and stuff i guess is more BI or a BA type job

where as IT MIS is more data extraction and little analysis

and thats the salary gap
