Just went to cell c franchise book and noticed the S3 deal with 300mb extra data for R329 pm.
In actual fact it's the note2 that gets the 300mb..
Link to deal below.

An average consumer could easily be duped by this IMO.

The ad definitely states the S3 has 300mb extra data. You should insist they give it to you. And report them to the ASA

Sorry for you, but all adds have E&EO on them, which stands for errors and omissions excepted. That is clearly a mistake since the phones where swapped. You have no foot to stand on. The ASA will only protect you in the case of a deliberately misleading add. And even then you cannot force them to honor the add, you can only force them to retract it.

Yes, i understand that, but they hide behind fineprint. If a customer signs up for this thinking the 300MB is included, will they correct it? After sucking how years out of the client's life?

I have no sympathy for cell companies. They trick and con customers all the time. I like Cell C (not their network) but when they make a mistake, they should pay for it. They're not as bad as MTN who used to sell tablets on voice contracts and whose sales people openly mislead clients, but still.

This is true, the cell companies in this country rake it in at the expense of the consumer.

However "caveat emptor" is the ultimate rule here and simply means : let the buyer beware.

So I contacted cell c through facebook and got in touch with their marketing team and they admitted the error and said They would correct it. I've just checked their franchise booklet and it has been corrected. :)
