Does anybody know how to retrieve last seen messages or how to view earlier messages on whatsapp on a nokia x6 please

All I know with my little dinky E72 is that if I've not deleted the thread of convo, I'm able to scroll up to the top and click on the "View Earlier Messages" (or similar button and then I get to see earlier messages.

Further than that, I don't know...

If you've closed/deleted the chat, then I don't think you've got anyway of getting it back.
