Good day. I am wondering if any one can help me. I seem to have some program on my pc that is eating up my valuable internet bandwidth. Is there any software out there that can maybe track the bandwidth used by programs running on my pc?

Any help will be appreciated.

If you're using Windows, check if the Automatic Updates are enabled. Those eat bandwidth for breakfast, dinner and lunch. Any decent firewall should be able to show you which applications are doing what on the network, though. I'm quite partial to Panda Internet Security myself.

First off, are you running an antivirus program?

Then download and install AVG Free. http://free.grisoft.com/doc/28415/lng/us/tpl/v5

Then you'll need to download and install Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D, update all these, and run a full system scan.

Chances are you might have a spambot on your PC which chomps up your bandwidth.

Other people will also recommend other programs which you can also use as well.

Regards

I only have the windows firewall installed on my pc. I also have a virus scanner on my pc. . My usage has gone from 150meg a day to about 350 meg. And it seems that I am doing over 300 meg every day.

try netlimiter it shows you which programs are using internet etc
