Hi guys,
I know this has been discussed several times but i have tried the mentioned solutions with no luck .
i live a complex in Pinelands,Cape Town with a single feed cable for dstv,i have a splitter with 2 cables going into the dstv explora switch then cables to the explora and an HD Pvr 2P connected via extra view.
My problem is im missing channels 102,104,105,106,107108,114,205,206,207 and 208 on both decoders, signal strength on other channels is 90% but as soon as i switch to any of the above channels it drops to zero. There was a time when they would work on certain days and then stop, now its nothing.
Talked to the building manager who gave me a paper with additional network settings but this didn't help, this was for the 2P pvr as they don't have settings for the explora.
These channels used to work well on the 2P Pvr with the splitter and then they just stopped, even if i bypass the splitter and just put the cable straight into the input 1.
I have tried reseting both decoders to no avail, took them to multichoice where everything worked fine, got back home and still the same thing.
I dont know if anyone can help me as i have tried everything to no avail.i really need those channels especially the sports channels.

Thanks but every time i try to input those values it gives me the error message "SMATV binding failed, could not tune to bound transponder" Am i doing it wrong or is there something I'm missing.

Okay. I see you are using the Explora switch. Get an SS3 satellite splitter (950-2150MHz) from Space TV. Connect 2 outputs to the 2P and the 3rd directly to the Explora. Power pass line to input 1 of the 2P. Explora switch not needed.

If this does not work, pay the recommended installer to come and set it up for you.

I had the same problem, the vertical polarization gets 0% strength. Mine was caused because of a faulty LNB. After replacing it, it worked. I have a 2P PVR decoder.

1. Ensure you have the latest settings from your provider. (Sounds like your building manager doesn't know what is going on.)
2. Rescan (I had to do this more than 5 times before all the channels came back after the load shedding).

I have this problem - I didn't et all the HD channels or JimJam. I put it down to the big mofo trees that are in the park next door. And i came to this conculsion that if its windy (dish is stable) and the trees are moving - the signal is all over the show... I have since given up the fight and only use dstv for a few channels for wife and kids... Had to go streaming / nzbs for anything decent.

Before i go out and buy another splitter,if i take the one cable from the wall and put it in directly into the and Explora with those settings should it work?

The Manager said thats the only settings he has,the date on the paper is April 2013.
What surprises me is that before my PVR would work on all channels without any additional settings.
