When I reboot all my Internet connections have disappeared and I have to restore my drive to get them back.

What is causing this?

Can I make a backup of them?

I've Norton Anti-virus running - no problems

It's back

My problem is back...I reboot and all my connections are gone.

How can I backup my connections?

Help Please!

thats really strange, so like weneva u reboot and you click on start--> connect to --> show all internet connections.

theres nothing there?
Is that what you mean?
ADSL, Dial up?

That's exactly what happens - but not all the time

All my connections gone! ADSL, Dialup, even Bluetooth!

I've checked my startup files and there's nothing strange there.

If I restore to just before I booted - It comes back, so it must be something in startup

Sounds like an over eager XP installation. If I remember back, there was some "roll back" feature (System restore?).

I do not use Windows, so I cannot look it up - but maybe someone will know what I am talking about.

("System restore check point" comes to mind as well?)

Thanks I'll give them a try next time it does it

my usual advice: format!

also partitionate with c for windows alone, create own oem windows cd with your own setting and no more problems! just format and nothing much (besides few settings) will belost.

Format.

Had same problem with a client's PC. Tried ALL possible options. Nothing worked. Spent almost 3 hours trying to fix it. Even tried doing a repair install. Still nothing.

Flipping XP.
