Which HD PVR? the 2 tuners ( 2P and 2U) or the UEC HD PVR4 tuner, or the HD PVR4P?

Do you live in a complex with a communal antenna system?
Are you feeding your decoders from a universal SATCR LNB?

MC has tried to "fiddle" with the gap between hi-band transponders and Lo-band transponders, and their "fiddle" has backfired on them meaning that some decoder lose access to these channels as a result of them now being on hi-band transponders on the new satellite.

The new transponders placed into service on the new satellite are all hi-band transponders. The latest info available is as follows:

11728 V.... HD 170, HD 175....DVB-S2
11768 V....(for MC's use only - ignore)....
11808 V.... HD 111, HD 116, HD 145, HD 162, HD 163....DVB-S2

Not sure why you cannot still get ch 117 as it is still on the old satellite on a lo-band transponder.

11050 V.....HD 112, HD 117, HD 119, HD 121, HD 123, HD 125, HD 184, HD 186.... DVB-S2

The issue can be fixed on some of the HD PVRs but not on others.

thanks for the fast response !
I do have the HD PVR 2P unit
I do have a setup at home working for the past few years.
I'm using SATCR LNB

sorry I do get 117 (just checked it now again)

How can I fix the problem on the HD PVR 2P? Do I need to change the frequency on the satellite menu?

kind regards

You are in luck! Have a look at the home network setup screen. You will notice that a new parameter was added after the latest software upgrade called the "LNB switching frequency" and the value is set at 11880. this is an attempt by MC to try and "fool" decoders into treating the hi-band transponders on the new satellite as if they were lo-band transponders.

Set that parameter to 11700 save the setting and reboot the decoder. You should now get back all the HD channels you have lost.

IF this works for you, you will be the second person I know about that has been able to get his channels back when using a SATCR LNB.

BTW, I am assuming your SATCR LNB is a universal SATCR LNB?

PS: This solution was determined by concerted efforts by 2 of us over a period of about 8 hours, most of the time was trying to get MC to tell us what the new parameter was supposed to do ( 5 hours) after which we the proceeded to think the thing through ourselves and come up with the solution for SATCR LNBs.

Thanks worked!!!

The combination of Hi frequency at 10600 and LNB switching frequency at 11700 solved that problem for me.
All channels are back.

Also found the following forum with a lot of discussions around this problem http://forum.dstv.com/showthread.php?t=35748

Thanks again.

:D You are now the second person that I know of officially receiving hi-band signals the correct way.

Note that the 10600 for the Lo for hi-band is only an issue IF your SACTR LNB requires the Lo freq to be 10600. For those with SATCR LNBs using 10700 the setting should be 10700. Sorry forgot to mention the Lo freq issue as well.

BTW, MC will be releasing new software on the 7th November, which they claim will sort out issues on other decoders. Suggest you check your decoder after that date to make sure they have not screwed up the settings for those using SATCR LNBs. MC tries to wriggle out of this by stating that they have never endorsed the use of SATCR LNBs for use with their decoders .....

Hi
Please help with missing channels.

I have DSTv HD PVR LNB type UnicableTM/SatCR my problem is most of my HD channels are giving me the error E48-32 message since we’ve installed FTU.
We are connected to a communal Fiber network.
Below are some of the channels, some of the channels do have picture however the picture quality is very poor
105
106
122
129
130

Both dstv and our Fiber service provider technicians came to check and everything seemed fine so they couldn’t help me further.

Kind regards
Fiola
