Missing programs, lost, found, lost, found

Sometimes when I click on a program to open, I get a "windows cannot perform path or file name..... do not have permission", when I say ok, and click again sometimes I get the same, then the third time, it opens. Sometimes when within Outlook I open a link, I get a open dialog box, which states, "link browser locate", then I just close it and try again and it works.

Any advice?

Only things I can think of is a faulty hard drive or corrupt OS files.

Format and re-install OS.

Don't forget to backup important files.

I know that Vista is known for these problems... Especially if Vista is pre-installed on that machine

It's a xp os.

I get this when AVG blocks a ' replacement ' exe file ......

• Outlook Mailbox
• Firefox Bookmarks
• My Documents
• Drivers (Run Belarc Advisor before formatting)
• Folders on the Desktop

You should try foxmarks, for managing bookmarks. They upload your bookmarks to a server, and you can basically retrieve/sync your bookmarks with any pc. Saved my bookmarking @$s, more than once.

You sir win 1 internet. Installed Xmarks (prev foxmarks) sync'd all my machines, in bookmark heaven
