Missing Spare key

As per my other thread regarding the BMW...
When the vehicle was purchased it came with a spare key. There were always two keys for the vehicle. The car then was borrowed last year to his friend for a month and the main key was given to him. Forward a few months later to recently where I enquired to my ex step dad regarding the spare key, he is adamant that there spare key is at our place, but I gave it when his friend borrowed the car. I've asked numerous times for the key since the value of the car also depends on having a spare key.

My question is... what can be possibility done to have him either find the key or pay for a replacement spare key.

Ask him kindly.
I just read another post, and the comment were, wrote it off as school fees. You should have keep the key safe.

I have no idea what you're asking for here.

You want to know if it's possible to get him to find the key or else pay for it? How on earth can anyone here give you an answer to that :confused:. We don't know him or know what your relationship is like. Have you actually read what you just wrote?

He is looking for legal means and references his other thread for their context. English is horrid, but I got the gist.

English was never my strong point...
But yes. So small claims court is a way.
 
How does the vehicle value lower without a spare key? Is it in the Mead & Mcgrouther?

This, if he is doing it out of spite he might reconsider. If he honestly does not know where the key is then yu might want to try something else, try the civil approach first.

That is what I paid for mine about 3 years ago so probably more expensive now ;-)

I Have, he says that I have it, but I literally checked everywhere and I know his friend came to collect it with the vehicle, hence my determination to get it back.

I doubt anyone is going to let go of the fact that the car doesn't have a spare key, they will use it as an excuse to lower the price of the car.

Also, if he manages to sell to a dealer they are going to pay him less because to buy a new spare key as they are not allowed to sell a car without a spare key.
 
How do people lend each other cars for a month? I need new friends!
 
My insurance covers me for lost keys.
